Our wedding day

Matt and I got engaged on the 20th June 2006 at the Auckland Hill lookout, Gladstone QLD. I was 3 months pregnant with our daughter Ava and we already had Jacob who was 8 months at the time!

We had always planned to have a 2 year engagement, and started to plan our wedding at Great Keppel Island, QLD. About 14 months out from our date we were told that the island was going to be closed down due to renovations. We needed to find some where else for our special day, when Daydream Island was mentioned to us. A bit of research on the net, and it seemed like the ideal place for us to be married!

Planning the wedding was easy, we had a wedding co-ordinator Caroline who did most of our planning for us! We just told her what we wanted, and that was it :-).

We had our Hens / Bucks nights at Airlie Beach on Wednesday 7th January. (We had them separately). They were such fun nights, the boys bumped into us a few times, at one point even took over our stage at Karaoke!! We all ended up at the night club "Africa" at the end of the night.

Friday the 9th of January we headed over to the Island, and it was love at first sight. Such a gorgeous island!! That day FLEW by! And before we knew it, it was Saturday 10th January. Our wedding day. We woke up, had breakfast as a family and then parted our ways. The girls and I headed to the day spa and then boys went off to play mini golf. Once again time flew by, and before I knew it I was dressed in my beautiful dress and posing for photos with Rob our photographer from Total Weddings.

We arrived at the chapel in our "limo" buggys, and I got to see Jacob who had gotten ready with Matt and the boys. My little man looked so handsome!! He had been sick an hour beforehand so he was a little pale but still happy.

Before I knew it I was walking down the aisle to my soon to be husband. It was such a great feeling! And the ceremony flew by, our darling children tried to lock the celebrant out through the ceremony!! Once the ceremony was over, we went outside to pose for some photos with our family and friends, and then went off with our bridal party for some more photos.

Then it was time for the reception! It was a great night, we had a really good time. Dancing, laughing and getting to talk to family and friends we hadn't seen for a long time.

Sunday, Matt and I got a sleep in. We had a late breakfast and then went to get our children, We spent the day swimming and relaxing.

Blogger is being a pain, so will upload photos later on! x

Down at the beach...

We went down to the beach / oval the other day, as we do most days. The dog loves to run around with the other dogs and we like to walk along the beach. I took the camera today, and got some photos :-)
